Pricing and Instruction Information
Orvis Hill Country offers both private instruction and full-day fly-fishing schools designed to help anglers develop their skills. One-day Fly-Fishing Schools ($339 per person) cover casting techniques, gear selection, and essential knots, while the two-day course ($589 per person) includes on-the-water instruction in a moving stream. Private lessons start at $75 per hour for one student, with group rates available for up to four participants

Do I need my own gear?
No, we provide all necessary fly-fishing equipment, though you’re welcome to bring your own.
What’s the difference between the one-day and two-day school?
The one-day course focuses on casting, knots, and gear fundamentals, while the two-day course includes on-the-water instruction in a moving stream.
What should I wear for fly-fishing instruction?
We recommend weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, a hat, polarized sunglasses, and waterproof footwear or waders for on-the-water instruction.
Can I bring my own fly rod?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own gear, but we provide top-quality Orvis rods and equipment for all lessons.
What is the minimum age to participate?
Students must be at least 12 years old to take part in fly-fishing instruction.
